Installation, Operation, and Maintenance
To universal coupling, it’s very important to guarantee the running quality and life by correct installation, standard operation, and routine maintenance. Here is the attention as following, wish the customers to cooperate:
In installation of flexible spline universal coupling, must fit the spline coat to shaft according with the marked position, so to guarantee the end-fork bearing-hole axis in tolerance of 1 degree. Otherwise, it’s impossible to equivalent the drive shaft and the follow shaft with same angular speed. Then there will be unnecessary shocking and vibration, and the higher speed with more serious influence.
Normally, each side of universal coupling could be used as drive shaft or follow shaft, just follow the design drawing of transmission system in installation. But, here is two attentions for the customers:
(1) spline connection should better be far away from vibration or shocking.
(2) Spline connection should be clean without any dust or water.
Before installation, the flange connection should be clean without grease, and should get rid of any other bad influence to lose friction or connection.
It’s not good to long time overloading. Otherwise, accident will happen in operation.
After one shift in load running, should check the bolts in good connection or not, and fix the bolts with correct torque. After several shifts and checking, the fixing torque will be stable.
The joint bearing and spline connection of universal coupling, should be greased once a week or two week, if the operation is in high temperature condition. In normal temperature condition, it’s enough to grease once in 500 hours continue running. In shift running, it’s enough to grease once in three months, just with industrial No. 2 lithium-based grease.
In operation running, should inspect the universal coupling in abnormal cross vibration or not, and check the over heating or not. If some abnormal things happen, should stop running and repair in time.
To normal running universal coupling, should check and repair for maintenance after half or one year. The maintenance items as following:
(1) bearing raceway, cross shaft neck, and rollers should be changed to new ones, if the wearing or pressing >0.25mm.
(2) bearing end face, washer connection face, should be changed to new ones, if the wearing >0.35mm.
(3) spline connection face should be changed to new one, if the wearing >0.35mm.
All the possible accident to operators or equipments, should be avoided by correct protection in running universal coupling.
